Information of voters living abroad with no registered residential address in Hungary is kept on the central electoral roll for 10 years from registration, unless a voter participates in national elections in the meantime or had his/her registered information amended or requested the extension of his/her registration on the electoral roll. In such cases, the 10-year time limit starts on the date of occurrence of the events listed above instead of the date of registration.

Therefore, if a voter extends his/her registration on the electoral roll, the 10-year time limit restarts.
