If you are unable to attend the polling station on the voting date, you can request a mobile ballot box.
In order to request a mobile ballot box, an application must be submitted.
The application may be submitted by electronic means or by post.
1. By electronic means
The application may be submitted by electronic means, with or without electronic authentication, using the following link: https://kerelem.valasztas.hu/vareg/HelyiNepszavazas.xhtml

The form required to submit the application by post is available for download (in pdf format).
Please note: The application form must be completed with the same details as indicated on the residence card; otherwise, the application will be rejected by the local election office.
The application must include the reason for requesting a mobile ballot box. If you are not requesting the mobile ballot box to your residential address, you need to provide the exact address to which the mobile ballot box is requested.
When submitting an application, it is possible to provide a notification address to which the local election office can send a notification about the approval of the application or a decision of its rejection.
On voting day, two members of the counting committee visits the applicant at his/her domicile or any other address provided in the application (e.g. hospital) in order to place his/her vote in the mobile ballot box.
Please note: Those requesting a mobile ballot box may not cast their votes at the polling station ‘in the usual manner’, i.e. in person.
Applications for a mobile ballot box may be submitted from the 66th day preceding the voting date. When submitting an application by post, it must be received by the election office by the deadline for submitting applications.
1. Deadlines for ONLINE applications
- without client gateway authentication: to be submitted by 4 p.m. on the 4th day (Wednesday) preceding the voting date,
- with client gateway authentication: to be submitted by 12 p.m. on the day of voting.
2. Deadlines for PERSONAL applications
Applications may be submitted by no later than 4 p.m. on the second day (Friday) preceding the voting date.
3. Deadlines for applications submitted BY POST
Applications for a mobile ballot box must be received by the local election office by no later than 4 p.m. on the fourth day (Wednesday) preceding the voting date.
4. Deadlines for applications submitted by PROXY or MESSENGER (relative or other person)
- to be submitted to the local election office by no later than 4 p.m. on the second day (Friday) preceding the voting date, or
- to the counting committee by 12 p.m. on the day of voting.
Withdrawal of an application for a mobile ballot box:
An application for a mobile ballot box may be withdrawn by no later than 4 p.m. on the second day (Friday) preceding the voting date.
No other documents are required to be submitted in addition to the application.
No payment obligation arises from submitting an application.

An appeal may be lodged against a decision on an application for a mobile ballot box.
The appeal may be submitted by no later than the third day of receiving the notification of such a decision or, in the case of notification by electronic means or facsimile, of the notification being sent, but no later than the second day preceding the voting date.
The appeal must be submitted in writing to the head of the local election office that took the contested decision.
The head of the local election office takes a decision on the appeal no later than on the day following the date of its receipt.
Representation by a lawyer in the court proceedings is optional.
If the court concludes that the appeal is well-founded, it orders the electoral roll to be amended; otherwise, it rejects the appeal.
A mobile ballot box may be requested where a voter is unable to attend the polling station due to health reasons (e.g. being in hospital), disability or being detained (e.g. pre-trial detention, imprisonment) on the voting date. Using a mobile ballot box is only allowed by law in such cases; a mobile ballot box may not be requested for other reasons (e.g. being busy at work).
