General provisions for the purchase and sale of immoveable property

Under Hungarian law, the purchase and sale contract necessary for the acquisition of immoveable property has to be drawn up in writing and the change of ownership has to be registered in the land register.   Nationals of an EU Member State may acquire ownership of immoveable property under the same conditions as Hungarian citizens.
