Design protection shall be granted for designs which are new and have individual character. Design protection shall confer on its holder the exclusive right to exploit the design.
Design means the appearance of the whole or a part of a product resulting from the features of, in particular, the lines, contours, colours, shape, texture or materials of the product or its ornamentation.
Product means any industrial or handicraft item. This includes packaging, get-up, graphic symbols, and typographic typefaces. Computer programs shall not be regarded as products.
